Lucinda looked at them worriedly, and then said, "I have to stop Mr 
Fitzroy!"

She hurried to the top of the stairs and called down.  "Mr Fitzroy!  Stop 
... stop!  It's most important!"

She started to follow him down the stairs, just as the lift door could be 
heard opening on the floor below.
