"We have, sir, thank you," Philip called back. "But there's been a...mishap

Faced with this double invocation, the Arp crossed the street tiwards them, 
moving carefully to avoid the rubble in the street.

"Well?" he said.  "What is it?  Don't you realise there's a war on?"

It was clear he thought them drunken revellers ripe for mischief.
