This was the second guest in a row to give Esme Fitzroy such a look, and Arabella found herself wondering why. Their hostess seemed retiring, and definitely anxious, and Arabella realized that she knew absolutely nothing about her except for the fact that she was Marty Fitzroy's wife... It was not that they were of different classes -- she was friendly with many of her neighbors. Was it that Mrs. Fitzroy did not wish to be known, or was it the wish of her husband? And if so... why?
