Dot had the appearance of someone who'd just had an electric anal probe.
Her eyes were wild and intense, her hair slick with sweat, and her hands
shaking.
"I think we need to get out of here."
+++++
About to respond, Asha's eyes rolled up into the back of her head as her
avatar began to shimmer. For long moments she stood there unmoving, before
she was again able to focus on Dot. Her expression had undergone a radical
transformation, as she looked worriedly at her charge, taking Dot by the
hand. "You're more right than you could have known."
At the touch, the transmission that Asha had received replayed for Dot,
though it was not as intrusive as it had been for the taller woman, enabling
her to follow as Asha ran to the transmission point, her virtual wings
leaving trails of light behind her. It was a video from the Real, Shirow's
face imposed over what seemed to be a warzone. "Asha," he began in a tone
that belied his current situation, "we are under attack- I cannot maintain
broadcast height for much longer." The ship shook in punctuation to his
remark as some ordinance exploded nearby. "Only the cloak has saved us so
far, but I estimate that we have less than 2 minutes before they are able to
obtain a positive lock."
"I'll do the best I can, but haste is advised. End Transmission."
The video winked off in her HUD, even as they reached the transmission
point. "You first," Asha motioned.
Dot took a moment to look as she willed herself to be translated. The edges
of this reality looked pixalated in places, and she could almost feel the
once king keeping himself in check as she winked out of existence in one
reality, and found herself blinking into another. The vehicle rocked for a
moment, and Dot steadied herself with a hand, though she had no need to with
the harnesses that had kept her in place.
She looked to Asha before saying anything.
Asha's eyes fluttered, but didn't open.
"We're almost out of time," Shirow's voice came over the comm. "Ready back
there?"
Dot looked forward, although she couldn't see Shirow.
She waited for Asha to return before responding, the 'go' waiting in the
back of her throat.
Asha's face twisted in obvious pain, as her readouts spiked on the monitor
screen. It was painfully obvious that something had happened- and she
wasn't going to return on her own. Flak burst in the air nearby, reminding
her of the importance of time...
Dot reached toward her, her hands coming to rest on Asha's head and jack.
She started to concentrate, adding speed and strength as best she could...
knowing that the heavens could rain down upon them for her actions.
