As that name escaped into the ether, the attack suddenly relented, leaving
her facing a blank cursor in her interface.  Text scrolled onto the prompt.
"Who are you?"

Dot took a breath, trying to recover for a moment before responding.

"I'm Dot, renegade Chosen... and possibly a clone of Fiona.  Are you
Random?"

There was no response for the longest moment.  Dot's interface recovered
from whatever the attack had done, and slowly showed the progress of the
sampling program.

Finally, the prompt came to life again.

Child process spawned.
Improper input.  Function Terminated.
Parameter rejected.

...

The question mark blinked with a quiet urgency, the construct strangely
quiescent as it awaited ... something.

Dot looked at the cursor, uncertain.  After all the speculation... well,
she'd never tested herself against any of the samples.  She could be
Merlin's child... or Bleys'.  It would make sense that the clone of Bleys
and Fiona would watch over one of them. But it wasn't empirical.

"Unknown.  Exchange samples?"
