"Well," Dot started, "I didn't want anything... in my head, or chest.  That
left extremities, and I was more... secure with my arms," her cheeks hinted
at a blush as she spoke," and then I just didn't want it really visible, or
inconvenient."

Kayle didn't say anything in response, merely thought for a moment and
nodded, smiling.  She looked down at her handiwork, then back up at Dot,
brushing a stray strand of hair from her eyes.  "Well, we're done," she
announced, and sure enough, where she had used the tool, there was a small
hole.  It was quite unnoticeable, unless you looked closely.

"I'll get a cover to conceal it, and you won't even notice it's there
yourself until you need it," she said.  Then looking to Asha, she added, "We
can't check the results for a few hours yet.  If you want to bring her back
here then that's fine."

"Not unless you're terribly busy," Asha replied, peering at Dot's new
addition.  "Do you want to wait until we test it to give her the cover?"

"Well, we can match up skin tone with the sample in the multi-tool," Kayle
said holding up the small cylinder, "so we can have it ready when she is."

"If you don't mind, we're going to borrow your front terminal," Asha said,
parting the curtain.  "I'm going to run her with 'trodes until the plug is
ready for use."

Kayle nodded her assent.

"If you'll follow me, Dot?" Asha asked, stepping out of the enclosed area.
"As I stated before, you need plugs to run the Ether.  But 'trodes," she
pulled a device that looked like a set of headphones from the terminal, "are
good enough for local access.  They keep them around for the few who can't
get plugs."

"Just as the filter on terminals slow down reaction time, so does the
inductive nature of 'trodes."  She handed the device to Dot.  "Just put it
over your head, and make sure the pads at your temples align, and we'll get
started."

"Ready?" she asked, her hand on a key on the terminal.
